It bothers me that many in the American public think only Republicans can keep them safe from terrorism.
It bothers me that many people somehow put their trust in the tough-talking idiots running the country today when there is a plethora of evidence that they are undermining national security by bogging us down in Iraq, spreading the military so thin that some soldiers and marines have seen three and four overseas tours of duty, isolating us from many in the world, and bankrupting the country.
It bothers me that Democrats, the lame opposition, don't argue more forcefully that the Bush worldview is a failed one: democracy is not flourishing in the Middle East because of the Iraq war, we are not winning the generational war on terrorism by undermining the constitution at home and by torturing terror "suspects" abroad, and we are not helped by fiscal policies that steal from the future in order to gain a little political advantage today.
It bothers me that your poster is completely believable for the run-up to the Iran war/November midterms (which really are the same thing in Karl Rove's mind).
Let us hope cooler heads prevail vis-a-vis Iran. Perhaps the one silver lining to the cloud of Iraq is that people will be less likely to believe that the war-hawks have a clue about actually conducting an invasion.
Funny thing about torture, growing up, I always thought torture was what horible dictators did in the third world. I thought the idea was that (since people a baiscally decent) a transparent democracy wouldn't stand for such things.
OK,,,, does anyone think that Iran is seeking nuclear capability for any other purpose than a weapons program??? If “cooler heads” prevail and Iran is allowed to go on-line with it's nuclear program, history will look back upon the “cooler heads” with same disdain that it has for Neville Chamberlain. It was clear by their own testimony what pre 39 Germany was about, lets not pretend we don’t know what a nuclear Iran is about.

Well said.
