Lay Convicted

Ding, dong, the wicked witch is dead!

This is the best news I have heard in a while.

Finally, after all these years, they have held one of these corporate bastards accountable for the lives that they ruin. This is real progress.

  • Excellent news indeed. Even if he only gets sent to one of those luxury "minimum security" prisons, the wheels of justice have turned. Once in a great while, corporate criminals can actually be held accountable for their crimes.

  • This migh be just the start. More corporate crooks are under investigation for various, dubious methods of inflating their personal bank accounts.
Loks like we might be in for a real witch hunt of crooked pollies and execs. Poor bastards, sucks to be them.

  • Holding him accountable is one thing, but how about bringing him low? I've got some thoughts on that...

  • Tom,

    Yep.

    Cartledge,

    Yea, cry me a river.

    Kvatch,

I agree, sort of, and commented over at blognonymous. I'd take their money and give it to the victims, like you said, and then send them to prison.

  • How much time do you think he'll get?

By Blogger Reality-Based Educator, at 12:19 AM

  • Pretty irrelevant at that age, but since you ask, lets say 250 years each.

  • I disagree, praguetwin. Let's say Kenny Boy gets the full 30 years in prison for his corporate malfeasance - it sets a good example for some of the other corporate criminals to think about as they lie, cheat and steal their way to wealth. Not only are we trying to punish Lay and Skilling for their crimes, we also want to discourage this kind of shit in the future. And by tossing their asses in jail and essentially bankrupting them with fines, we'll at least get some corporate attention on the matter.

    That's my theory, anyway.

  • Point taken.

I hope they get the max anyway.

  • "Oh Kenny Boy,
The pipes, the pipes are calling, From Glen to pen,
    And on to Lewisboro,
    The party's over,
The vultures have come home to roost,
    And you must go,
    The prosecutors were thorough."

  • Wow, Tony, is that yours?

By Blogger Praguetwin, at 9:54 AM

  • Bien sur.
