Gypsy Getting Noticed
A few weeks ago I posted about the recent Gypsy.cz concert in Prague. There were only a few hundred people at the concert and it wasn't sold out, so I was a bit surprised to see that their album has broken into the top ten on the European world music charts making them the first Czech band to do so.
Way to go guys! Maybe soon you will be able to buy it in the States.

Of course there are larger Gypsy populations in the countries which were not occupied by the Nazis, like Spain, England, Turkey. We even have them here mainly in the south and I believe they call themselves Travelers. The best TV show this season is about them and it has Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. Interesting, but not that admirable if you ask me. I have to admit they do make some good music.

I keep thinking I'm going to do a post on my personal experiences with them. Interesting, but not admirable is right.

I have a few Bosnian Gypsy friends that have taught me a bit of their history. Interesting.
